Our other Christmas Experiences…

Walk Experience Information

When you arrive at our farm head to our Pukkapaca Shop to sign in and collect your wristbands, all adults in your group will be offered a complimentary mug of mulled wine and you will be given the opportunity to buy some alpaca feed (50p a bag).

Please note: we always recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes early to give you time to sign in as you may have to queue at peak times.

A few minutes before your experience begins, make your way to the alpaca pens and experience start point where you will be collected by one of our festive elf helpers. Your experience will open with a health and safety talk and you will then be handed a Reinpaca chum to accompany you on your walk around our large 110 acre farm. You will be walking through fields, woods, up slopes and down uneven pathways, so if there are members of your party who are less able you might find the Alpaca Nativity Experience is better suited to you.

We encourage photography and the ever famous alpaca selfies! Our elves will pause at points along the way to give you plenty of photo opportunities. (Actual time spent walking around the farm = 45 mins)

After your walk head over to Chilli Bean Kitchen our cosy and quirky restaurant where you can warm up with a hot chocolate, freshly ground coffee or enjoy bite to eat from our hearty winter menu (available from November)

  • How Many Tickets Do You Need?

    1 Adult = 1 Ticket

1 Child aged 10-14 = 1 Ticket - must be part of a group which includes a paying adult aged 18+ with an alpaca

1 Child aged Under 10 = Free with 1 PAYING Adult aged 15+

Please Note: Only 1 Under 10 per Adult aged 15+

  • Can you walk without an alpaca? - Every paying ticket holder attending the experience must walk with an alpaca, this includes all ages and abilities. We cannot allow spectators on the experience.

  • Children under 5 - When bringing children under 5, adults must feel confident that their child can walk the whole distance or that they can carry their child from start to finish. For very young children, we would advise bringing a sling or baby carrier, we cannot authorise pushchairs on the walks (see accessibility section).

  • Children under 10 - MUST have an adult accompanying them to share their alpaca and will not be able to lead on their own. Each adult attending will be responsible for supervising their child, we therefore will only allow a maximum of one under 10 per adult on the experience. Children aged 10-14 who have their own alpaca may not be responsible to supervise an under 10. Under 10s must always be accompanied by an adult over 14 years old.

  • Children aged 10 - 14 - Children under 15 are given their own alpaca to lead but still MUST have a paying adult accompanying them. The adult will have their own alpaca to lead but will be responsible for supervising their child and will be asked to take the lead rope in the rare event their child is uncomfortable or unable to lead their own alpaca. Children aged 10 - 14 may lead their own alpaca but may not be responsible to supervise an under 10. Under 10s must always be accompanied by an adult over 14 years old.

  • Walking abilities - During the Christmas walk visitors cover a lot of terrain that can be bumpy, sloped, and sometimes slippy, we therefore would not advise anyone who would struggle to join in with this activity, there are lots of areas to sit and wait including our cafe if individuals decide not to participate. Safety first: If you are unsure of your ability to walk please be aware that if we believe it unsafe for you to cover the distance and terrain we will ask you to stay behind and no refund will be given for the experience.

  • Wristbands - Upon arrival, you will need to sign in at the Pukkapaca Shop, where you will receive a wristband, colour coded to your experience. Every attendee will receive a wristband which must be worn throughout the experience.

Please Note: Loss, damage or failure to present a wristband will unfortunately mean that you cannot take part in your experience.

  • Accessibility - The walks will be trekking through fields that maybe rough, bumpy or muddy. We cannot authorise wheelchairs, pushchairs or walking aids on the walks for these reasons.

  • Cancellation - Minimum 48 hours (working days) notice from selected walk date.

  • No Shows - Failure to cancel bookings which result in a no show will mean the booking is lost and no refund can be given.

  • Lateness - The experience begins with a 15 minute health and safety talk followed by the alpaca walk, this is a group activity and our guides will begin the walk on time, once all visitors have been handed an alpaca and leave the pen any latecomers will be unable to join the walk and no refund will be given. Please plan your journey and allow for traffic as refusal to join the experience tends to offend.

  • Refunds, Cancellations and Rescheduling - Minimum 48 hours (2 working days) notice from selected walk date.

  • Photography - During the walk we take photographs and these are then published on our Facebook page to give you the opportunity to see your experience with us at no extra charge. By booking with us we will trust this is accepted by you and all party members unless a member of staff is notified on the day prior to the walk or you contact us in advance.

  • Accidents - Accidents do happen, albeit very rarely. We give an extensive health and safety briefing prior to your experience and you should follow the instructions given. We cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries that occur on our farm.

  • Weather - Our walks take place outdoors and run whether rain or shine, sleet or snow so please dress according to weather forecasts and be prepared for our temperamental British weather!

  • Vouchers - Terms are applicable to bookings purchased directly. 3rd party purchases may have additional terms which will be on vouchers.

  • Voucher Redemption - Booking required following receipt of your voucher.

  • Alcohol - It is against the law to serve alcohol to under 18s, anyone under this age will not be offered the free mulled wine or eggnog. We have a Challenge 25 policy at the farm - Please do not be offended if you are asked to provide photographic ID - just share your beauty tips with us!

  • Access - We currently have limited wheelchair access and no disabled toilet on site. Due to the nature of the walk the terrain is currently unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, we also cannot allow walking aids such as crutches and walking sticks on our walk experiences, this is for both insurance and health and safety reasons.

Come visit with your loved ones and enjoy our fun filled fleecy festivities...
