Relax with friends and family in a welcoming atmosphere at the The Chilli Bean, located at Charnwood Forest Alpacas, Boundary, a hamlet nestled on the Leicestershire and Derbyshire border and situated on the outskirts of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

All our food is freshly prepared and our elegant yet comforting menu features classics, including homemade breakfasts, cakes and plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. We have a lovely courtyard for the perfect place to relax. The Chilli Bean offers a wide selection of barista made drinks and iced teas.

So whether you pop in for a quick drink and a snack or an afternoon tea, Jo, the team (and the alpacas),
will be on hand to ensure you feel right at home.

About The Chilli Bean

The Chilli Bean is homely and cosy right in the middle of our farm. Once a derelict old milking shed, Chris and the team lovingly restored the building when we first moved to Scamhazel Farm to make it into the fantastic space it is today, providing our guests with much-needed refreshments and honest, tasty food after their animal experiences! Today, this building holds The Chilli Bean and our PukkaPacas shop, where you can pick up all kinds of alpaca goodies, gifts, clothes and homewares for the alpaca nut in your life (even if that alpaca nut is you!)

At The Chilli Bean, we offer a wide range of drinks and snacks to help refuel you either before or after your experience, including hearty farmhouse breakfasts, delicious hot and cold sandwiches and light bites. We also have a wide range of fresh, hot teas, coffees and hot chocolates on offer, plus fizz and cocktails for when you really want to make a day or even a night of it!

If you’re really looking for a way to make an occasion of your visit to our farm, why not try our famous and original alpaca walk and book in for a fresh, Sparkling afternoon tea while you’re at it? Along with tasty sandwiches and exciting cakes, you’ll get your choice of hot drink or a glass of fizz (adults only). We can’t imagine a better way to spend a day! If you’re more of an indoor person you can also book afternoon tea experiences independently of our animal experiences to make any occasion that little bit more special.

The Chilli Bean is open to all, not just guests on animal experiences. If you’re not up to a day in the fields with our alpacas, sheep, horses, donkeys and more, you’ve still very welcome to visit us for a spot of tea and cake, or something more substantial as you look out onto the fields of our 110-acre farm! We’re very lucky that The Chilli Bean looks out onto our rolling fields, which means that even if you aren’t here for an experience, you might still get a glimpse of some of the wonderful animals on our farm. We serve guests from near and far in The Chilli Bean and are happy to welcome you even if you’re only here for a cup of tea and a short walk around our trails. Who knows, maybe you’ll fall for our animals too and book an experience on the spot.
